Re: Updating a Graph in word

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Cindy,

Thanks for reply. No I have tried just running that line (Set oleF =
doc.InlineShapes(1).OLEFormat - in fact that shouldn't have been in
the post as it was one of test lines I had tried out) and it gives me
an error saying:

This object was created in MS graph.
This application is not avaliable to open this object.
Make sure the application is properly installed and that it has not
been deleted, moved or renamed.

I have read else where that this is related to objects embedded in
embedded objects but I am not sure how this applies. All I want to do
is to plot and then update an array which I can't think can be that
differcult - although I am finding it really difficult to find a
solution!

Hope you can help me further.

Best regards

Matthew

Hi Matthew

I have a user form from which I want to plot agraph. I know how to
get the info from the form but am finding it difficult to plot the
graph. I have got the code below from another website which seems to
do what I want (e.g. plot agraph) but it inserts a newgrapheach
time you run the code. I am sure it is due to the line I have marked
"here" but I don't know how to change it to reference an existing
graph? Also I am not sure how to add a second series to thegraph?

Yes, that would be where the problem is coming from. Does it not run
if you leave this line commented out, so that this one runs?

    Set oleF = doc.InlineShapes(1).OLEFormat

To get help with setting up series, I recommend you ask in an Excel
newsgroup. The graphing engine is the same one Excel uses. Be sure to
mention which version of Office you have, as the graphing engine
changed in 2007.
