going to use a script font in the text boxes, too, so it will look like

such lines in forms is to make it easier to fill them out by hand (the
lines are a nuisance even for typewriters, especially if they're not
properly spaced). If you insist on doing this, you will have to use
drawing lines. This is very fiddly but can be done."
Suzanne,
Here is one explanation for the "mystery" that you cannot figure out:
I am trying to accomplish the very same thing, and the reason is that I
work in an environment where we use forms on a daily basis, however,
some of my co-workers fill in those forms by hand, while others wish to
complete the documents online. Rather than having to create two
separate documents, one for manual data entry, the *only* reason to
require lines, as you say, and one for online data entry, it would be
far more efficient to have a document that has lines which will allow
for text to automatically wrap to the next table cell, but that will
also print out in paper format with the lines intact.
I can hardly believe that the *only* way to accomplish this is the very
cumbersome and tedious task of drawing the lines that you mention. But
then again, it is Microsoft Word that we are talking about, so maybe I
shouldn't be so surprised by its rigidity and inability to do something
so simple.
Hopefully someone who does not claim to be such a "Microsoft Word MVP"
can give us a more plausible solution than what you have offered.
P.S. Perhaps you should dispense with the commentary and opinion, and
just provide a solution to the problem posted, or even better, if you
don't have an answer, just say so. It's okay, no one will think any
less of you if you don't know the answer.
