Hi JC,

If you open the Office Research pane, you will see "Research Options" at
the
bottom. These options will enable you to activate a whole range of
resources,
which include the Encarta monolingual dictionaries for English and for
French. It's a web service, so they will not be installed on your machine
and
you need to be connected to the internet.

Once these are activated, you can right-click on a word and select "Look
up" to display the definitions (and examples...) from these monolingual
dictionaries. Alternatively, you can also use ALT-Click on a word to
display
these dictionary entries (as well as the Office English-French,
French-English bilingual dictionaries, which, as Opinicus says, are
certainly
too limited for professional translators).

I hope this helps,

Best wishes,

Thierry

Very good of you Thierry; I'll let you know what happens
thanks again.
