For some reason my Word 2003 spell-checker does not spot single letters - "a", "b", "c" etc.
Also, it seems to think that "the" mis-spelled as "eth" is ok.
Does anyone know how to fix these problems, please?
I would guess that single letters are allowed otherwise the lettering schemes of ordered lists would continually come up as errors.

"Eth" (& "Edh") are the names for the oe character.

You can create an exclusion list if you really want it to show as a mis-spelling. I use this facility to call out "poser" as in the "poser supply in your computer". I'd have to research how I set it up though, it was some time ago and a little obscure.

And, in my experience, even if you have set-up such an exclusion list, do not expect it to work reliably, unfortunately.
