I'd been hoping that someone who actually knows or has
experience in this area would answer, but apparently not...
As far as I know, this is not possible. The EXCeption file
has to be where Word expects it, and this would be in the
same folder as the *.lex file for older versions of Word;
in the users' profile listings for newer versions.
The only possibility that occurs to me is that there might
be something that could be done using a policy. However,
that's where my knowledge of policies end - I know they
exist :-) You'd find more information on policies in the
Office Resource Kit (ORK); and people who know how to use
them most likely in the word.setup.networking newsgroup.
The only other suggestion I could make would be to have a
batch file copy the EXC to the correct location during
log-in, so that the dictionaries are always up-to-date.
