Thanks to you all for your help.
I can't say that I am happy about this change in Microsoft policy.
I can understand why indiscriminate installation of fonts embedded in
documents (.doc) might be counterproductive.
But if you're distributing a template you sort of want to distribute
the bits and pieces that make it work properly. Right?!?!
Making it impossible to install the "new" font from within the
distributed template (.dot) is far too radical, whatever the security
issues.
Well, at least this mystery is now explained. Another case of Auntie
Microsoft knowing better than its humble users.
