Printing problems to HP LJ4

Printing to my HP LJ4 from MS Word 2002 SP3 produces
garbage! Printing from command line and Notepad work
fine! Printing from Excel works fine also! I will try
reloading Word but I don't think it will help. I scanned
my entire hard drive for viruses last night. Found one
but the printing problem didn't go away. I recently
replaced toner cartridge w/a new HP cartridge (not a re-
filled one from another vendor). Don't have a clue why
this could have caused my problem. Anybody else see
anything similar to this???
Caveat: The is a 10 year-old printer. Maybe it just broke!
