We have MS Word 2000 running on a WinXP Pro machine. I open a Word
document and it appears fine on the screen. When I print it, there is a
warning that the margins are not acceptable. Whether I choose 'fix' or
'ignore', Word automatically indents the left margin about 2 inches no
matter what I put. When the doc prints, it has a 2 inch left margin and
is cut off on the right.
I've been able to fix this by closing Word and deleting all instances
of normal.dot. (This was a fix our computer person suggested.) I can
then re-open the same document and it will print fine. However, very
soon the same thing happens again, and not necessarily with the same
document. I've re-installed Word already.
The problem is it happens frequently and not always with the same
document. It is very unpredictable. Also, I can open the same document
on 2 other computers with the same operating system and have no
problems printing those documents to the same printer.
Any ideas????? Incidently, we are printing to a HP color Laser Jet
4500.
