In addition to what Jezebel has written, note that the "Different odd and
even" setting (unlike "Different first page") is all or nothing; if you set
if for a section, you're stuck with it for the entire document; if you want
odd and even headers and footers to be the same in certain sections, you
just have to copy the contents from the Even Page Header/Footer to the Odd
Page Header/Footer (or vice versa). For more on all this, see

1.I want to have two different header titles in two different sections
sectionodd
number pages in a document plus no header title in the ending 15 pages.
I
can't seem to get rid of the header title in the last 15 pages without
affecting the other headers.
Each section can have its own headers and footers. By default, each
uses the headers and footers from the preceding section, but you can breakthe
this link using the 'Same as previous' button on the Headers and Footers
toolbar.
So insert a section break before your last 15 pages; then select within
final section, display headers and footers, clear the 'Same as previous'but
button, then delete the header. It will be deleted only for the final
section.
2.It seems the header and footer setup are somehow connected to my page
numbering efforts. I want the numbers in the footer center, but when I
have
the page setup for the footer "Different odd and even pages" unchecked
then
the header titles are on both odd and even, which I don't want. When
"Different odd and even pages" is checked then the header title is OK
the
numbers only show up on the odd number pages. [I inserted the cursor in
the
footer to apply the numbers]. I can't figure this out. Any help
appreciated. [Word 97]
Headers and footers work in parallel within any one section: you have one,
two, or three of each depending on your page set up (odd/even/first page).
If you need different odd/even headers, then you need to set up odd/even
footers also, even if they contain the same content.
