Hi Greg:
Yes, you can, provided the numbering attached to the style is the kind that
"will" re-start.
When you restart, Word then re-applies the same list template and you get
the same indents.

Use Styles for your bullets and numbering so you do not get this problem.

Numbering,
the
left and hanging indents are also modified sometimes
