On Vista, you can use the Snipping Tool to capture the screen image of the
word document and save it as a .jpg file. Then personalize the Desktop
background with the jpeg graphic.

document to the SnagIt driver with the output option set to jpg or bmp. Then
right click the desktop > properties > desktop and browse to select your
