Yes, that method does have its attractions. And having options is good! However, since each method has pluses and minuses, and because the original poster indicated that files were usually opened by clicking on the user document, I thought it useful to outline a method that catered to that preference.

Personally, I'd do what "geosto" suggests -- to create shortcuts to for Word in the Sent To folder. That's what I did back when I had around 4 versions of Office installed and it worked very well. :-)

Even with all that being said, as with Graham, my suggestion would be to open the application and use the File menu to open the user document.
