Re: Using Text Boxes in Word 2002

Thanks for your help. I've been able to lock the text boxes together;
however I've not been able to lock these to the photo in the
document. If I select the photo first, and then select a text box,
the photo becomes unselected.

A1 There is an invisible grid active by default and this 'Snaps' drawing

this in the Drawing Toolbar or better, just hold down the ALT key whilst
moving the object which overrides the snap to grid.

Q2 You can 'lock' drawing objects together by selecting them all (click on
the border of the first object and then Shift+Click on the border of the
other objects until they are all selected) and then right-click on one of
the selected borders and from the context sensitive menus choose Group. You
can then move all the objects around as a single object.

As an alternative to using Text Boxes, on the drawing toolbar there is a
selection of callouts.

I'm using Text Boxes to annotate a drawing and have the following
questions:

1. Are Text Boxes the best way to add text to a drawing? (I don't
need the box - just the text and have been removing the box after
adding the text)

1. When I try to move a box a small distance it "jumps" more than I
would like it to. Can I reset this so that I can move objects a
smaller distance?

2. How can I "hook" the text boxes to the drawing so that I can move
them together in the document?

Thanks!
