Open the document and use Insert, Field, CreateDate. It should display the
date the document was created unless the sender has been deliberate in
masking the date by opening and using SaveAs to create a new document from
it.
If you are really sure that it has been doctored and it is hurting you
financially, there are utilities out there that can sniff out hidden
metadata and reveal all that has happened to the document.
