Certainly disable the Norton AV office plug-in. It's a bug fest!
You need to uninstall the add-ins to eliminate them as sources of the
trouble.
Run detect and repair from the help menu and regardless of whether the
problems occur ar startup or not, work through the suggestions listed in
that link.
