I do have the "Calculate on exit" option checked! Also, I tried adding a
cross reference per your suggestion, but I am unable to use a word in a
heading to generate the reference. Nor can I add a bookmark or formfield in
the heading to try to make the reference go the other way. Any other
thoughts? BTW, I'm not married to using protected forms, as I'll be the only
one using the document anyway.

Alan D.
