command bar after mailmerge

I have a command bar ("MyToolbar") that is visible in my document, but after
mailmerge, it is no longer available. How can I make it visible after the
mailmerge has occurred? (Or, conversely, is there a better way than a
toolbar to make my document macros available after mailmerge?)

TIA
