Hi Rwn,

I can't recall having ever seen (or had a report about) something exactly
like this. If this is happening with only the one main merge document, I'd
suspect there's a bit of damage in the internal file structures. I do
recall a customer once reporting an oddity in a main merge document I'd
edited in Word 2002 or 2003 and he was using in Word 97. Not the same
problem, but it sounds as if it could be related. Might be best to use two
different documents for Word 2002 and above vs. Word 200 and lower.
