Hi Martha,
I'm not sure I follow exactly what you want, but this sounds
a lot like a "one-to-many" type of merge. There's a Knowledge
Base article on how to get Word to loop through records until
a certain condition changes. You'll find a link to it in an
article in the Special Merges section of my website.
