Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry



If you did NOT close the document, you can use Undo to undo the changes made
by the auto formatting.

If you closed the document and you did NOT have the "Always create backup
copy" box checked under Tools>Options>Save, then you will have to start from
scratch.
