Hi Wenz,
What is the error message?
Adobe Illustrator EPS files and Word have long been a bit problematic (EPS is not one of MS's primary graphic formats). There have
been MS security updates that target vulnerabilities in items being embedded in graphics files although I don't recall one
specifically for EPS.
Have you also checked with Adobe to see what updates they may have made?
Do you have a link to one of the EPS files that is causing the error?
What language format is set for the EPS and in the document you're using?

Suddenly we are no longer able to link EPS files that contain Japanese fonts,
e.g. MS Mincho, saved by Adobe Illustrator CS2 or CS3 to Word XP or Word 2007
documents. When attempting to do so, the Convert File dialog appears and then
an error message. Users outside our company have verified this behavior.
Although saving the EPS as a Photoshop EPS or with the fonts in outline
format works, the result is not satisfactory: full-text search in PDF is
lost, a gray background appears, etc.
A few months ago, we were able to link the same files, so we suspect some
update caused this.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
