Re: Copy/paste from excel to word fails to copy all columns

Thanks for your reply, but I have been resizing the pasted picture as you
describe. I drag the left corner to make it smaller and then drag the result
to the center of the document until I can see the sizing handles all the way
around. Unfortunately, some of the columns on the right side are missing
from the picture. Any other ideas?

From your description I can't be certain, but it may simply be that the
pasted image is extending off the right edge of the page making those
columns not viewable - Word can't display anything that isn't *on* the
"page"... The gray backdrop around the document area isn't usable workspace.

If that's the case, use the sizing handles on the top or bottom left corner
of the picture & start resizing from there, then keep dragging the picture
to the left in order to pull it back onto the page.

Alternatively - and perhaps more efficient - go into Format> Picture & set
the dimensions there.

It also may be faster/easier to create a new blank doc in landscape with
skinny margins to paste the picture into & do the resizing there, then cut &
paste into the destination doc.

[Tip: In either case hold Shift while dragging a corner handle to maintain
proportion as you resize or be certain to have the Lock Aspect Ratio check
in place in the Format Picture dialog.]

I want to capture an area from an Excel sheet and place it in a Word doc. I
copy the area to the clopboard, and when I paste special/picture(enhanced
metafile) into word, it places most of the area selected, but skips a few of
the columns on the right side. I can paste the same clipboard capture into
another excel page and it is all included.

The area is fairly wide, and I will need to resize the picture after it's in
Word, but that's ok. When I print the full area from excel on a portrait
orientation, it looks fine, and that's the look that I want in word.

I am on windows 2000 with Office 2000 9.0.8961 SP-3
