Re: Word graphics > Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi Bob,

Thanks for that info, just what I was looking for. I did know about MS
"canning" the Digital Suite but was willing to consider it nevertheless. I
just cannot wait for us to migrate to Vista (it'll be a LONG time coming ...)
so I will be seriously looking at Photoshop Elements ... that's a great
alternative and I thank you for the suggestion.

Best,

Sharon

Just one other opton that often goes overlooked. It provides the same
quality as full-scale Photoshop but is less comprehensive in features... as
well as price:) What it does have works virtually the same as the ful
version.

And you may not be aware of this:

I haven't worked much with the product, but my interpretation is that it is
really more for the home user & will fall [quite] short of your needs &
expectations. There must be some reason why it's been discontinued & dumped
on Amazon.com for ~$25/copy. If you're really interested in saving money,
just hold off until your company upgrades to Vista - you'll get the old DIS
stuff thrown in free :)

Dear MS friends,

I have a number of colleagues using Word to produce public information
materials, HTML web pages, Intranet pages using CMS, etc. who need
sophistication for graphics that goes beyond Word's capabilities (i.e.
photo
touch up, removing objects from photo foreground/background, etc.)

Our professional graphic artists use PhotoShop but we cannot support this
in-house for "regular" users (nor would we want to given its
sophistication).
So, my question is this: is Microsoft Digital Image Suite a suitable
option?
I used a trial version a year or so ago and *loved* it. However, I now see
that Microsoft no longer supports it and recommends upgrading to Vista. My
organization has no plans to do this in the near future.

I see that Amazon is selling the Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006
Anniversary Edition. For my purposes, I think it would be great to get
this
and not worry about any MS support. However, before I do so (I would be
buying 20 copies or so), does anyone have any recommended alternatives?
We're
a die-hard Microsoft house so I guess the a/m Suite would be the best
solution. Any comments would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Sharon R.
