Re: hyperlink launches wrong prog

Not sure what's going wrong, but the problem is with Windows, not Word. The
hyperlink doesn't specify the application: it's just a filename. Windows
looks up the file extension in its file associations table (from your
Registry) to determine what application to use. It's not plucking
'Photosuite' out of the air: something in your system is telling it to use
that.

Hi Mary, that is the method I normally use, gave it a try but nothing

normally the icon would update to the new pro so you know yiou have

a change, it still stays with MGI Photosuite icon after choosing Msoft fax
etc viewer from the list (need by the way choose the bottom option, called
choose program,unlike Msofts instruction as that simply opens the prog, no
chance to tick always use, so I did it the correct way, ticked always use,
and hyet icons stayed unchanged, Tried the CD and still the links launch
MGI
!!!

see image in the fax etc viewer, but get a list of jpg files and

those launches the fax etc viewer then all is well.

MGI photosuite is a greedy prog for jpg, likes to associate itself with
whatever file type its told to be the default for. Reason I ran it on
win98,
as other installed progs grabbed jpgs and others and a fight developed
!

I am winXP home now.
