Hi Caesar,
It's possible that the temporary internet file cache
is full on your computer. You may want to try
clearing the cache in Internet Explorer.
You may also want to clear the temp folder
(type %temp% in Start=>Run and also in
Start=>Search clear up the files you find with
~$*.*;*.tmp
If you're linking to say a JPG file in the Tools
menu of Picture manager turn off that association
temporarily, close Picture Manager then use ctrl+click
on your hyperlink and see if the graphic comes up
in Internet Explorer correctly.

I use Word 2003. In some of my documents, I like to convert small blocks of
text (e.g., names)to hyperlinks. Ctrl + Click launches MS-Office Picture
Manager with the appropriate photo. At least, that's what's supposed to
happen. This technique has worked for me for years, but lately I'm having
problems. When I click on the hyperlink, Picture Manager launches sure
enough, but all I see are icons for a hodge-podge collection of files: a
couple of Word documents, an Excel file, a .pdf document...but not a single
photograph or any other graphic.
I thought perhaps my document had become corrupt. I copied all the text in
the suspect document and pasted it into a new blank document. At that point,
the hyperlinks worked! But the next time I opened that new document, I
encountered the same old problem.
Next I started another new document and created several hyperlinks. Again,
the links worked; but when I closed and reopened that document, the problem
recurred. What's going on, and how can I fix it? >>
