Until I installed my first macro a few weeks ago, I had only a
normal.dotx. Installing the macro changed it to a .dotm.

From within W2007, click Office button > open > trusted templates. You can
open and edit normal.dotm from there. (There is no dotx. The normal
template must be able to contain macros and such.) But to delete it, Word
must be closed. You can find the correct path by clicking the arrow on the
right side of the "Look in" bar on the Open dialog. You may have to scroll up
to see all the way to C:
BTW, W2007 act the same as its predecessors, if you delete normal.dotm, Word
will replace it.

My Normal.dotx (or dotm) is no where to be found. I open word. I know where
it is directed to. I have tried Alt, T, I and then clicked Attched (the
Document Template comes up with Normal). when I get there, there is no
normal anything...
I want to start from scratch with the normal.dotx that word came with to set
up my company's standards. I have tried putting in my old normal.dot from
2003 but it kept coming up with (Companitibliy Mode) in the title bar so I
thought I'd better start from scratch - only I can't find the orignal normal
for 2007.
Anyone?
