Glitch in .dot forms with a macro when saving as docx.

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

I’ve found a strange glitch when opening a .dot file that contain a Macro and
then saving the form as a .docx file.

I've created a number of documents that are locked for form fields, are
password protected, and are saved as a .dot file as not all of the people who
fill out the forms are using Office 07 yet. The documents are uploaded to a
web page for people to download, fill out, and then e-mail back to my
organization.

The forms include a macro that allows you to run spell check as I received
numerous complains a few years ago about not being able to run spell check
with forms that are locked for form fields, so implementing a spell check
macro was the solution. The macro unprotects the document, runs spell check,
and then reprotects the document.

What is happening is opening the form in Office 07 and saving it as the
Office 07 .docx format, all the text in the entire document becomes right
aligned. This problem only occurs when there is a macro in the .dot file. If
the file doesn’t contain a macro, saving it as a .docx file doesn’t change
the text alignment.

Other than asking users to save the form as a .doc file, is there another
way to prevent this problem from occurring?
