Re: Text box to plain text

I love you. This worked after an entire day of messing with (and messing up)
an outdated 10 page document!! Thanks so much.

If they're really text boxes, then you have your work cut out for you. If
you're really lucky, they'll be frames. This is often the case with OCR'd
text. Try selecting the entire document (Ctrl+A) and pressing Ctrl+Q. Since
the frame has rarely been defined as part of the style, this will remove the
frames. Unfortunately, this will *not* "preserve the layout and format of
the document," but it will at least extract the text.

I have a word document that was created by entirely using text boxes. This
resulted in a humongous file (68 MB and growing for some reason). IS there
any way to convert all of these text boxes back to "plain" text while
preserving the layout and format of the document?
The only reason the document is in Word is because it couldn't be exported
into Excel because of the 65,000 row limit.
