Delay in commands from Office programs

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

I have a long delay between clicking on a command before the drop down menu
appears. For instance, clicking on Print (or File>Print) the menu does not
appear for a long time. This happens in Word, Excel - all Office Programs,
and all commands (Format>Font, etc).

I have a new computer, lots of memory/Ram, Vista & Office 2003. I do not
have Adobe or other .pdf creating program installed.
