Why does my header/footer look washed out and pale when I stop
editing it? I want anyone who opens my document to see the header
and footer in full color.

Thanks

Yay, solved it. Just Format Picture that is in the header and reduce
brightness and increase contrast so that it compensates for the
washed-out look that Word just had to force.

Don't be silly! As Suzanne says, this will ruin any possibility of creating
a normal print out of the document.
