Has this changed in Word 2007? In my experience, if you close all documents
but one and then hide the field codes, this setting will be retained for any
documents (re)opened later.

Alt+F9 toggles all fields on/off in any given document. Once you've display.
field results in that document, all fields should be display as results
rather than as codes.
If other document have been saved with field codes displayed, then that's
the way they open next time. So, if you have multiple documents that were
saved that way, it might take a while for you to open and resave them with
codes turned off.
Mind you... pressing Alt+F9 does not change a document. So, in order to save
the "change", you'd need to perform some kind of edit, such as inserting and
promptly deleting a space, etc.

Right clicking and changing Toggle Field Codes worked, but only in that
instance, how would I permanently Toggle the codes off? Thanks again for
your help, I appreciate it.

It sounds like you simply need to press Alt+F9 to toggle the field
display.
Alternatively, right-click {DATE \@ "MMMM d, yyyy"} and choose Toggle
Field
Codes.

I have a template and macros that whenever I run, puts in a code like
this
{
DATE \@ "MMMM d, yyyy" } It seems to do that for a lot of things, not
necessarily just the date. If I copy and paste into this question, it
put
the date in correctly. Did I set some sort of setting in Word 2007 to
show
this instead of the date? Any help is appreciated.
