Re: How can I print a list of files within a folder?

PrintFolders (currently the 1.2 version) has been available for download
from my web site for some time. What's your problem with freeware? Paying
for software doesn't guarantee it works any better. This little utility does
exactly what it says on the tin.

Thanks again for your help. I am hesitant to download any freeware
though. Any advice. Also, how would I rewrite it to be a suggestion
and I will do it. Thanks again!

Hmmm... It looks like Microsoft is doing everything in its power to
prevent people from printing lists of files. :-( The Outlook-based
procedure in the page I quoted doesn't work in Outlook 2003 because
some of the important bits have been removed from Outlook. The
non-Outlook-based procedure depends on having a printer assigned to
the LPT1 port, which doesn't work with the USB printers that are
most common today.

I think the best alternative is to search Google for a free utility
to print file lists. An example is PrintFolder 1.3 at
http://no-nonsense-software.com/freeware/. I haven't used it, so I
can't say how well it works -- but there are tons of others on the
Net.

And while you're in the mood, rewrite your original post as a
Suggestion for Microsoft. I think it would get at least a couple of
million "yes" votes.

Everything works except there is no print option when I click on
file. Any other suggestions? I tried copying and pasting into a
blank word document, and the first list did copy, but when I go into
a subfold and try and copy and paste, it actually opens the files
and pastes the entire file instead of the list of files. Would
appreciate any more help I can get :)
