Hi =?Utf-8?B?YmZhaXJjaGlsZA==?=,
Holding down the shift key, while double clicking the shortcut, does notOK, then that rules out an Auto macro of some type.
change anything.
I'm still a bit confused about exactly what you're doing when you see this,
and what message (if any) is being displayed. Are you clicking a Word icon
shortcut (that would open a new blank document), or a document icon shortcut?
Could you show us a script that you think may be causing the problem?
The version of Word is: Word 2003 (11.8106.8107) SP2
I first noticed this behavior after running automation scripts. The script
opens Word, opens a document, changes it, then closes Word. It could be a
total coincident that I first notice it after running the scripts but if it
is not a coincident, are there registry setting that can be replaced or over
ridden by new setting?
What are the original command line options for opening a .doc extension?
Do registry setting over ride command line switches?
Once Word is open without a document and I double click the shortcut again,
the file opens as I would have expected it to open while Word opened.
I'd really like to find what I did before I resort to reinstalling Office.
I'll be upgrading to 07 soon. If the problem is in my scripts and I do the
same thing again, I'd like to know what happened and how to avoid it. Any
help is appreciated.
