There may be a way to disable the Caps Lock key, but I don't know it
offhand. There are two other things you can do, however:

1. In Control Panel | Accessibility Options you can check ToggleKeys to get
a warning ("tone" = beep?) when Caps Lock is pressed.

2. In Control Panel | Keyboard | Input Locales | Change | Key Settings,
there is an option to use the Shift key to turn Caps Lock off, making the
pair of keys work like Shift and Shift Lock on a typewriter.

Also, be sure that you have "Correct accidental usage of cAPS LOCK key"
checked in the Tools | AutoCorrect Options dialog in Word.

I am a VERY poor typist and continuously hit the caps lock key by mistake.
Since I use the hunt-and-peck system I am lookibetwen the keyboard and
monitor so I ususally capitalize several words before I relaize I have hit
the caps lock key accidentally. The proble is caused in large part by

poor small-motor skills, so I am unable to improve my typing skills. What

capitlaize anything by using the shift key, so not having access to a
functioning caps lock key is no problem.
