Insert date field into merge-query options-compare to

I am merging to an excel spread*** that has dates for reports
arriving here by project. I have several merge documents that I create
and distribute listing what has arrived each day by several different
criteria including todays date. Is there a way using a macro to update
the "Compare to" (tools-mail merge-merge-Filter Records-Compare to) to
the current date. I usually have 3 or 4 and or choices that "Compare
to" whatever is Todays Date.
