Hmm, can you elaborate a bit here? Are you looking for help on how to do a bibliography?

Up to your version, Word doesn't really offer a lot, so you are either forced to do some manual work or use a 3rd party tool.

[BTW, Word 2007 would bring something new to the field here.]

If you tell us exactly what problems you are running into, I'm sure someone in here can help. After all, millions of research papers have been written in Word so far -- IOW, it's not something impossible! :-)
