Hi Tom,

You need to make sure that the field Choose Commands From says "Commands
Not In Ribbon". There definitely is a "Look Up" in the list below it
then.

Thanks for your suggestions. I appreciate your taking the time to reply.

Your first two options require several extra clicks to invoke a feature
that only required two clicks in the previous version. They are a step
backwards.

I have added the Research Pane to the Quick Access Toolbar. This is helpful
but it's not as convenient as a direct link to the Look Up feature. I have
looked carefully but I can't find a "Look Up" command on the lists of
available features for the QAT toolbar that would duplicate the feature in
Word 2003.

Hi Tom,

There are several ways how you can get to this feature in Word 2007:
a) Click on the Review tab, then click Research to bring up the Research
Task Pane. If you close the pane and reopen it again, it will remember
what source you used last
b) Right-click, select synonyms, thesaurus and change the source when
the research pane comes up
c) Go into Word Options, Customization. Choose commands from "Commands
Not in the Ribbon" and add "Look Up" to your Quick Access Toolbar.

I hope this helps.

The Look Up command is missing from the right-click menu in Word 2007. Is
this by design or is it a bug in the beta software? I found this feature
extremely useful to check definations to make sure I was using the correct
word.

I realize you can get to the feature by going through the steps to get to
the research pane but this takes several extra "clicks." I urge Microsoft to
restore the Look Up feature to the right-click menu before the production
version of Word 2007 is released.

Is there a way for users to add commands to the right-click menu?
