Re: default folder for Word 97 documents

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

My Documents is a fiction; the actual path is C:\Documents and
Settings\<profile name>\My Documents. But you should be able to navigate to
the folder in the Modify dialog. Unfortunately, this navigation is not
reflected in the dialog in the "Folder name" box in recent versions of Word.
What you can do, however, is navigate to the correct folder, then use the Up
One Level arrow to go to the next highest level. Select the folder in the
window and choose Open. This will open an Explorer window in which you can
use Ctrl+C to copy the file path from the address bar and Ctrl+V to paste it
into the "Folder name" box.
