Opening a Word Doc in IE 6

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

When I open a word document from an attachemnt in IE6, Word (the
program) opens, but before the socument opens, either the frame and
taskbar icon start blinking or I get a message that the document cannot
be found. The file never opens. Is there a link missing? If I save the
attachment it will open fine in Word.
