Doing it again didn't work. I've even tried completely reinstalling Office.
I've also already tried the two methods you suggested below. It's
interesting because when I edit the DOC file association from Explorer it
shows the Word icon next to the DOC file type and if I restore it back to
Wordpad it changes back to the Wordpad icon. Then, as I'm doing this the
Explorer window flashes as if it is refreshing to update the new icon, but
nothing actually changes. It's as if the Word icon doesn't exist or is
somehow confused with the Wordpad icon. Is there any way to directly control
the icon that is diplayed for a certain application so I can change it
manually? And if so, where can I find the Word icon to change it to? Thanks.
