Relative hyperlinks change to absolute when saving in Word 2003

I created an online work manual using a previous version of Word, 2002 I
believe. The files are created on my local C: drive and moved to the G: drive
on our network. Recently we were upgraded to Windows XP and Office 2003. Now
when I copy the manual files over to the network, the links change to
Absolute. I've tried unchecking the Save on exit, etc. but nothing works. Any
suggestions?
