Can't say I've ever seen anything like this, so my thinking is either
1. You have a stuck F5 key
2. You've assigned some other key combo to GoTo that's getting stuck
3. There's an Addin, somewhere, that a particular key combination is activating
4. (Most likely, based on what you tell us, above) Since Word 97 or 2000, a
number of "GoTo" functions have been assigned to the "little silver ball" at the
bottom of the vertical scroll bar. As soon as you use one of these searches, the
Alt+Page keys (I think it's Alt) that used to "page" through a document trigger
a "GoTo" next or previous action.
