Hello Mr. Bill, (or can I just call you The?)

Unfortunately I didn't understand a single word of what you wrote. That
is probably because English is my third language, not because your
message lacks interpunction and other structural elements.

Anyway, could you please please PLEASE give the ***EXACT*** messages
Word gives you? Please be as descriptive as possible.
And if talking about downloadable documents: could you please give the
url if possible?

If you think your documents might be corrupt, you can always try to
open them with OpenOffice. OpenOffice is a Free (as in Free Speech)
Office suite, with a very high degree of comb^Hpatibility with
Microsoft Office. You can download it for free (as in free beer) from
http://openoffice.org. In my experience (confirmed by others) it is
often possible to open a corrupted document with OpenWriter when
Microsoft Word has already given up.
In short:
* Open in OpenWriter
* Clean up if needed
* Save as a Word file (with a different filename)
* Open in MS Word

Good luck!
