Obviously, you don't have to deal with 250 high school students screwing
around changing options and defaults all day and still be expected to have
time to teach them as much of the "Office" software as possible in the time
constraints of a semester - on top of all the testing required by the
district, state and federal requirements.

However, for your edifcation - I downloaded Office's update sp1 and now the
Tools-Options choices are working properly....

So much for manufacturer-installed software.
