Re: How do I view and edit pictures/graphics in the Print Layout view?

Wouldn't the whole idea of creating a textbook for students on Word be
to prepare them for anything they may encounter?

Obviously your default settings were modified unexpectedly since
normally you *do* see graphics in Page Layout view. If your students
encounter similar difficulties shouldn't they be educated enough to
know how to modify their personal preferences such as those found
under Tools/Options? Those aren't major tweaks, btw. A major tweak
would be manually editing the Registry. (And there are situations
where this is the only way to modify some settings.

One of the first things my students learn is Word can be modified to
suit your preferences. If something appears odd it's likely the issue
lies in their settings and they shouldn't blame the application.

Also I noted you referred to the 98 version of Word. Word versions for
Windows 95 and above are: 97, 2000, 2002, 2003. Word 98 was designed
for the Mac.
