The comment locations should be shown in a highlighting. Put your mouse over
the highlighting and the comment should appear. Double-click on it to open
it.
Bubbles (balloons) were introduced in Word 2002 so if you have an earlier
version you won't see them. If you have 2002 or later, you may have turned
them off because they mess up formatting.
