I have a problem that seems to plague academicians. We frequently have to
write Letters to editors and reviewers discussing changes in a Manuscript,
which must be kept as a separate document. In these letters, we must refer
to specific line and page numbers of changes in the manuscript, such as

"...and we have made this change on Line X or Page Y of the revised
manuscript...."

It is, of course, a long and tedious process to insert the numbers manually,
then revise them as the original manuscript is revised and hope that no
changes have been overlooked. I would really love to be able to mark the
changes as Bookmarks (or another field of some sort) in the Manuscript
document, then be able to reference them in the Letter document so that the
page and line numbers would update as they change in the Manuscript. Is this
possible in Word 2003? Thanks!
