Greetings! Sorry about the accidental empty post preceding this one.

I am using Word 2000 SP3 and have a Word 2000 document that when opened
informs me that it may be corrupt and that I should copy the contents to a
new document and save it. When I do this the integrity of the formatting is
not maintained. This is a document that multiple people update regularly, but
only one person at a time has access to the document.

My questions are as follows:

1. What causes this corruption to happen, because it isn't the first time
and I would like to avoid it in the future?

2. Are there any utilities or procedures that I can use to reconstruct the
document and remove the corruption?

Thanks in advance for your help!
