So sorry I didn't mean to type that all in Caps! Wasn't shouting, sorry:(.
Most of the cd's came in paper jackets and I put them in jewel cases to protect them. Don't recall any numbers on them and did look for them. I registered word somehow so I must have had it somewhere. Lord only knows where :) Thank you for your information. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Software that is supplied with a PC, that is not packaged in Microsoft's
packaging is OEM software. You must contact the supplier of the PC for the
number. The number is usually supplied amongst the bumph supplied with the
PC - sometimes even as a sticker on the PC case.
