Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I took the "easy" way out & did a Restore of Drive C (Windows) & now all works well.
Many thanks for your help!

Ouch again... Since Suzanne already mentioned looking for any Word Add-Ins in the Windows Control panel > Add/Remove programs, I guess uninstall/reinstall would be the only thing left.

I get the message that Word (Excel, etc) is not installed & the information is unavailable. This - from SysInfo from inside of Excel??? Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint all seem to work OK. It's just Word givimg me the Runtime error.
I have deleted the appropriate REG keys ( I thought) - see the beginning of this novella!
Thanks Klaus

Ouch... missed that. What about any other Office app (Excel, Outlook, ...)? The system info is available in all of them.

Or start it separately: Windows Start > Run > MSInfo32
(... it takes a while to collect the info, so don't give up too quickly)

Klaus

Klaus-

Thanks for the idea - but with the Runtime error I am unable to open Word to have a look.

Hi Doug,

Some COM Add-ins are really hard to discover :-(

If you look in the menu, Help (?) > About [= last item in the list], > System info > Office > Word > COM Add-ins, you should see a comprehensive list.

You can get the full list with a macro, too. Somewhere in the KB there's a page with such a macro, but I don't have the KB Id handy.

Regards,
Klaus
